APEX is not-for-profit
and its Objects are for the public benefit, to advance measures and take such steps as it shall deem necessary for the defence of human rights and the rights recognised in law and international law. Including to ensure:
- The right to live in freedom and safe from personal harm;
- Equality before the law;
- The right to move freely within one’s own country of residence;
- A fair hearing before any authority exercising power over any individual;
- The civil and political rights guaranteed by the International Bill of Human Rights and similar instruments;
- The human rights (as set out in the Human Rights Act 1998, the European Convention on Human Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and legislation and international treaties and conventions) for the benefit of the public;
- That politicians, holders of public office and professionals (including lawyers) not to breach their professional duties (including not to turn a blind eye) or breach the public’s trust in them;
- That politicians, and holders of public office not twist or misuse the law for personal gain or allow others to breach any law or cause harm;
- The conditions in any deceleration which ensure and safeguard communities’ civil and religious rights, and if any of these conditions were actually breached, to invalidate the declaration or any benefit the breacher gained.
